App privacy and account deletion

Last updated: September 27, 2026

This page describes data use in JABC Members, provided by Jordanian American Business Council. It supplements the council's general privacy policy.

Data used by the app

Account and membership information, including your name, email address, member number and subscription status, supports sign-in and access control. Your profile may contain your phone number, organization, position, photo, links and business information you choose to provide. Directory information and community contributions are visible to eligible members according to permissions and profile visibility settings.

We process direct and group messages, posts, comments, event registrations, applications, support tickets, safety reports, attachments and documents you submit to provide these features. Membership records include payment status and references; the app does not collect payment-card details. Documents you choose to upload can contain sensitive identity or business information.

Sign-in tokens use device secure storage. Language and display preferences are stored locally. The server processes IP addresses and request logs for service operation and security. App requests use HTTPS. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted.

Notifications and optional AI tools

We use Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging for notifications, including app installation identifiers, a device registration token, platform and message-delivery information. You can decline or disable Android notification permission and revoke registered devices in app settings.

When you use writing, translation or assistant tools, your selected text and included conversation context are sent to our server and may be sent to the DeepSeek AI provider when enabled. These tools are optional; do not submit confidential or sensitive information. You can report inappropriate output inside the app. Automated responses can be inaccurate.

Hosting, notification and AI providers process information needed for these services, potentially outside your country. See Firebase privacy information and DeepSeek's privacy policy. The council may display editorial advertisements or sponsored content. This release has no behavioral-advertising SDK or Google Analytics SDK.

Delete your JABC Members account

You can request deletion without installing the app or signing in. Email info@jabcouncil.org from your registered email address, using the subject “Delete my JABC Members account”. Include your username or membership number. Do not send your password or identity documents in your initial request.

If you no longer have access to your registered email address, contact the same address for a secure ownership-verification method. We handle requests within 30 days under the council's policy and explain any data that must be retained and why.

The request covers your sign-in account, profile, documents, registered device tokens and associated content under the council's control, rather than only disabling access. Financial records or records needed for fraud prevention or legal obligations may be retained; the general privacy policy describes applicable retention periods. We cannot remove copies recipients have already saved outside the service.

You can also request deletion or correction of specific data through this address and review your request before completion. Uninstalling the app does not delete your account.

Community rules

Using contribution features requires agreement to the membership terms and these rules. Harassment, threats, hate speech, fraud, spam, sexual content, child exploitation, illegal content, and violations of others' privacy or rights are prohibited. Only share content you have the right to share.

Use in-app reporting to flag members, content or AI output. You can block members and manage your block list in settings. Blocking prevents direct messages and connection requests between you and hides the blocked member's content from you. Council moderators review reports and may remove content, restrict accounts or suspend access. Complaints can also be sent to info@jabcouncil.org.
