Terms of Membership

The agreement between JABC and all members. This policy applies to all members and website visitors.

1. Agreement

By submitting a membership application and completing payment to the Jordanian American Business Council (JABC), you (the Member) acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Membership and all referenced policies. These Terms constitute a binding legal agreement. If you do not agree, do not submit an application or complete payment.

2. Eligibility

  • You are engaged in lawful business activities in your sector
  • You have not been convicted of fraud, money laundering, or financial crimes
  • You do not represent an organization designated as a terrorist entity by the US government
  • You agree to represent yourself and your organization accurately and honestly
  • You have legal authority to enter into binding agreements

3. Application & Approval

Submitting an application does not constitute membership. JABC reserves the right to approve or decline any application at its sole discretion without providing a reason. An approval notification is an invitation to complete payment — membership is only active after payment is received and confirmed.

4. Membership Duration & Renewal

  • Annual memberships are valid for 12 months from the date of payment confirmation
  • Memberships do not auto-renew. JABC will issue a renewal invoice 30 days before expiry
  • Members who do not renew will have portal access deactivated on the expiry date
  • Founding Member status is permanent upon one-time payment, but requires active Executive or Investor tier membership for portal access

5. Member ID & Certification

Upon membership activation, each member receives a unique auto-generated Member ID in the format:

JABC-[TIER]-[YEAR]-[0001+]

This ID appears on your certificate, digital badge, and portal profile. It is non-transferable and cannot be reassigned.

6. Tier Upgrades & Changes

  • Members may upgrade at any time by paying the pro-rated difference
  • Downgrades take effect at next renewal
  • JABC may reclassify a member's tier if they no longer meet tier criteria

7. Membership Benefits

Benefits are as described on the JABC membership page for your tier at the time of joining. JABC reserves the right to adjust benefits with 30 days written notice to active members.

Important: Benefits provide access to opportunities and introductions — they do not guarantee business deals, funding, government access, or any specific outcome.

8. Intellectual Property

  • JABC members may display the member badge and certificate for legitimate professional purposes
  • Members may not use the JABC name, logo, or brand in any way without prior written approval from the Executive Committee
  • Portal content and member data are for member use only and may not be reproduced, distributed, or commercialized

9. Termination

JABC may terminate any membership immediately without refund for violations of the Code of Conduct, misrepresentation, fraud, illegal activity, or portal security breaches. See the Refund Policy for full details.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Wayne County, Michigan.

11. Limitation of Liability

JABC's total liability to any member shall not exceed the total membership fees paid in the preceding 12 months. JABC is not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages including loss of business opportunity or revenue.
