Refund & Cancellation Policy

What you need to know before purchasing membership. This policy applies to all JABC members and website visitors.

Important Notice

JABC membership fees are non-refundable after the 14-day cooling-off period. Please read this policy carefully before completing your payment.

1. 14-Day Cooling-Off Period

JABC provides a 14-calendar-day cooling-off period from the date of payment confirmation. A full refund will be issued ONLY if ALL of the following conditions are met:

  • Your cancellation request is submitted in writing to info@jabcouncil.org within 14 calendar days of payment
  • You have not logged into the portal more than 3 times
  • You have not accessed the member directory, deal room, or investor sessions
  • You have not attended any JABC event, webinar, or meeting using your membership
  • You have not received or downloaded your membership certificate
  • Your company or profile has not been featured on JABC social media or newsletter

If any of the above conditions are not met, the refund right is forfeited regardless of the date of the cancellation request.

2. After the 14-Day Period

After the 14-day cooling-off period, all membership fees are non-refundable under any circumstances, including:

  • Change of business circumstances or financial difficulty
  • Failure to use the portal or attend events
  • Dissatisfaction with the level of business generated through membership
  • Change of mind or strategic direction
  • Employee departure or company restructuring

Membership benefits remain active until the end of your paid membership year regardless of a cancellation request after 14 days.

3. Annual Non-Renewal

  • Annual memberships that are not renewed simply expire at the end of the membership year
  • No formal cancellation request is needed
  • Portal access is automatically deactivated on the expiry date
  • JABC does not charge for non-renewal

4. Refund Process

Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 10 business days of written approval. Any payment processing fees incurred during the original transaction are non-refundable and will be deducted from the refund amount.

5. Termination by JABC

JABC reserves the right to terminate any membership immediately, without refund, if a member:

  • Violates the Code of Conduct
  • Engages in misrepresentation, fraud, or damaging conduct
  • Uses membership for illegal or unethical activities
  • Attempts to breach portal security or extract data
  • Provides false information in the application

6. Dispute Resolution

Submit a formal written dispute to info@jabcouncil.org within 30 days of the decision

JABC management will review and respond within 14 business days

If unresolved, both parties may agree to non-binding mediation

Legal proceedings are subject to the laws of the State of Michigan, Wayne County courts
